THE DESIRODE & UN AIR DE THÉ TEA ACCESSORIES COLLECTION.

Behind Désirode is visual artist Désirée Castillo. Born in 1979 in the port city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, this passionate woman studied art, law, and psychology, but it was architecture that led her to Bordeaux. Her artisanal ceramics are inspired by ancient civilizations, particularly pre-Incan ones. Working with the earth here takes on the appearance of archaeological digs: Désirode recycles ashes from Bordeaux homes to create everyday objects; she also sources the earth from France. The matcha bowls, cups, saucers, and other objects in the collection presented here were created in collaboration with Tea sommelier Grégory Lehoux. The earth used is Burgundy clay for the red earth, and the black and white stoneware is from Normandy. All the ceramics are unique objects, crafted in-house using ancient craftsmanship.
