Water temperature: 95°C
Infusion time: 5 to 10 minutes
The other infusion technique.
In order to get the maximum benefits from a plant, it is sometimes recommended to practice decoction . Unlike an infusion, where you pour hot water over the plant and wait a few minutes for its active ingredients to be released into the water, decoction is done by putting the plant in cold water, bringing it to a boil and turning off the heat, while letting it infuse for a few more minutes. This technique is often useful with the stems or roots of plants.
