An exhibition on the Japanese kimono in Bordeaux

Come and attend an exhibition on the Japanese kimono at Un Air de Thé and two dedicated conferences on the subject!

exhibition on the Japanese kimono

Another wonderful encounter for a tea party: Mathilde Moreau, a Japanese culture enthusiast. She studied the art of kimono, known as kitsuke (着付) in Japanese, and made it her university research topic. When last year, she offered us the opportunity to exhibit her most beautiful kimonos in our tea house... We were delighted!!!! But then Covid came along and the exhibition was postponed... but not canceled! And today, it's time to reveal the dates!

An exhibition on the Japanese kimono from September 21 to October 31, 2021 in Bordeaux

The various kimonos presented in this exhibition belong to Mathilde, who acquired them in 2018 during her year of study at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto. Her kitsuke teacher passed on her knowledge and shared her passion for this ancestral art.

Two lectures on the Japanese kimono at a tea party!

Mathilde has so much to teach us about the kimono that one date wasn't enough! So we decided to extend these cultural experiences.
